NAATI

The National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) is a body that accredits translators and interpreters. It is the translation and interpretation industry’s official accrediting body in Australia. NAATI certification for translators and interpreters in Australia assures that the service is of the highest quality. The Credentialed Community Language (CCL) test is a community-level assessment of your language ability.

Applicants who want to apply for a point-based visa usually take the CCL test. Applicants who pass the test will get five points towards a Skilled Independent (subclass 189), Skilled Nominated (subclass 190), or Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489). You can get accredited and gain 5 additional points under Credentialed Community Language (CCL) points by taking the NAATI Test from NAATI.
